During the recent Aurora shooting, victims Alex Teves, Matt McQuinn, and Jonathan Blunk all fatally sacrificed themselves shielding their girlfriends. The fact that they acted so quickly, and without thought for their own safety, speaks volumes about the individuals that they were. Their sacrifice, and such sacrifices made the world over by parents and loved ones in such situations, represents something that is too often overlooked. That love, in the end, is the greatest shield that we possess.
